This week's CIO hardship

Last monday evening, I was invited to have diner in the Palace Hotel in Noordwijk aan Zee. Together with ten other colleague CIO's and CFO's we discussed on the issues of outsourcing. There was a good discussion and the diner was excellent. The other morning I was invited to visit the ITSMF congres in Noordwijkerhout which was also very interesting.

The most interesting part of the week however was the Innovate session that we organized with the ICT directors, systemmanagers and -architects from our European workingcompanies. We organized a nice teambuilding the night before where we had to make original samba music with different percussion instruments, after that we enjoyed Spanish tapa's and we had a short night of sleep in hotel Karel V in Utrecht that appeared to be one of the best hotels in the Netherlands.

Friday morning I was invited to see the making of The Grote Beurt. This program is sponsored by one of our working companies. The program is presented by Jorinde Mol and is shot in the Dronten subsidiary (I lived in Dronten for two years). It was fun to see the making of.. Of course the most important part was to talk about the business with the local management :-)
